NEW DEMAND JUSTICE RADIO AD TO SENATORS COLLINS AND  MURKOWSKI: YOU COULD BE THE DECIDING VOTE THAT ENDS ROE V. WADE

New Ads Juxtapose Kavanaugh’s Anti-Abortion Track Record with Senators’ Support for Women’s Health Care and Right to Have an Abortion

WASHINGTON, DC—Demand Justice has released new radio ads in Maine and Alaska, asking Senate Republicans Collins and Murkowski to stand up for women’s health by voting against President Donald Trump’s extreme Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.

The 60-second radio spots, which will run in Maine and Alaska, highlight Senator Collins’ and Murkowski’s past support for Roe v. Wade and their willingness in the past to break Republican ranks to support their values. As noted in the ads, Kavanaugh has ruled against a woman’s right to access abortion and would do so again if confirmed to the Supreme Court. The ad urges listeners to call Senators Collins and Murkowski to tell them to protect women’s right to choose by opposing Trump’s anti-abortion nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.

The radio spots are the latest part of Demand Justice’s $5 million campaign in opposition to Trump’s nominee for Supreme Court Justice, Brett Kavanaugh. On Wednesday, television and digital ads began airing in Maine and Alaska detailing how Trump has repeatedly asserted that a prerequisite for his Supreme Court nominee would be willingness to outlaw abortion and strike down the health care law.  Here are the Maine and Alaska TV ads.

TRANSCRIPT: STOP KAVANAUGH (COLLINS), :60

When Senator Susan Collins wants to step up and protect us, she’s done it.

Last year, she stood up to help protect the Affordable Care Act.

And this year, we need her to stand up again.

President Trump vowed to only nominate judges to the Supreme Court who will overturn Roe v Wade.

And we know Senator Collins doesn’t like that.

CLIP: “I consider Roe v Wade to be settled law.”

CLIP: “If a nominee had demonstrated hostility toward Roe v Wade in an official capacity that that would cause me great concern.”

Judge Brett Kavanaugh has sided with those who oppose Roe v Wade.

And his presence on the Court means it gets overturned.

Senator Collins – you could be the deciding vote that ends Roe v Wade.

That would be your legacy. Is that how you want to be remembered?

Call the Senator. Tell her to stop Kavanaugh.

Call her at 855-999-5917. That’s 855-999-5917.

Remind her – voting for Kavanaugh means voting against women’s rights.

Paid for by Demand Justice.

Demand Justice, a progressive advocacy organization launched in May to mobilize grassroots opposition to Donald Trump’s judicial nominees, announced plans to spend at least $5 million to oppose Brett Kavanaugh.
